AVLI is an international nonprofit that develops interactive CD-ROM courses and educational tools for families and professionals working with hearing-impaired children. Its products teach children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing how to listen and speak using high-powered hearing aids or Cochlear implants. It sells globally through its e-commerce web site.
 
  In early 2002, AVLI was a start-up nonprofit with a limited budget and staff. It was searching for affordable support in many areas, including business planning, e-commerce web site creation, product development, marketing and project management.
  Through its partnership with Springboard, AVLI found a long-term strategic partner, as well as a “one-stop shop” for all its start-up needs.
